Mississippi State has fired football coach Zach Arnett in his first season leading the program, athletic director Zac Selmon announced Monday.
Arnett was hired as Mississippi State's head coach in December 2022, replacing Mike Leach, who died in December 2022.
The Bulldogs went 3-9 in Arnett's first season, including a 1-7 record in SEC play.
Arnett is a former Mississippi State player and assistant coach.
He was the defensive coordinator at San Diego State from 2019-22 before being hired as Mississippi State's head coach.
