Red Bull's reigning World Champion Max Verstappen claimed a dominant pole position in qualifying for the 2023 Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka. The Dutchman topped the timesheets in all three qualifying sessions, securing his fifth pole of the season and the 21st of his career.

Lando Norris of McLaren joined Verstappen on the front row, a career-best qualifying result for the young British driver. Carlos Sainz Jr. of Ferrari will start third, followed by Verstappen's Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez.

The Japanese Grand Prix will be held on September 24th at the iconic Suzuka International Racing Course. Verstappen will be looking to extend his championship lead with a victory, while Ferrari and Mercedes will be hoping to close the gap.
